HistoryCITY CHURCH BELFAST was started in the 1980s by a group of people from several different churches in the city who had embraced the ‘new charismatic movement’. They wanted to be free of perceived denominational constraints and to express their worship to God in a modern, contemporary and authentic way.

City Church moved into our current building – a former Victorian church hall – on University Avenue, in the early 1990s, and has always attracted young families, students and people from all walks of life who are keen to engage with the community and make their faith relevant.

Over the years, we have enjoyed valued relationships with several churches, community groups and church-based organisations – both locally and further afield.
